Although several countries around the world have already begun to roll out a coronavirus vaccine, it’s likely that many people will continue to work from home for the foreseeable future. That said, if you’ve been working from home for the past several months, now is the perfect time to reevaluate your home office setup and perhaps consider changing it up a bit to help you stay more focused and productive. Here are a few tips:

Declutter

A cluttered desk will impact your productivity and your concentration. Take a look at your workspace and see if you can do away with some of the stuff lying around. You don’t want it to be completely empty – for example, don’t place essential stuff like your pen or pad of sticky notes out of reach if you frequently use those items.

Your goal is to give you enough space to work with minimal distractions, and one of the best ways to achieve that goal is by decluttering.

Add some greenery

Bringing the outdoors to your workspace by adding a floor or desk plant is a simple yet effective way to create refreshing visual variety whenever your eyes need time away from the screen.

Look for a quieter spot to work

While some people like having background noise while they’re working, the slightest noise may be too bothersome for others.

In case you feel the same way and the current location of your workspace isn’t exactly quiet and distraction-free, now is a great time to look for a better spot that can help you work in peace. Just make sure your workspace doesn’t coincide with your children’s play area, the TV area, or other noisy parts of your home. If it’s not doable, consider getting a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones.
